In 1943, World War II was still active. Allied forces take back North Africa, Dambuster raids on German dams, Warsaw Jewish Ghetto uprising, Italy surrenders to allied forces, and America sees it’s first rationing.
This was a basic handbook for the United States Navy personnel, originally issued in 1902, to teach new recruits about the Navy. This is such an interesting book, and reading all the 1,145 pages from a perspective of a ‘new recruit’ would have been nothing less than overwhelming. The content and illustrations are so incredible and detailed.
The blue cloth boards have wear, with a small tear on the top & bottom front binding, all pages are intact with a little separation between pages 10 & 11, but hey, this little gem is 80 years old.
