There was a rubber seal, it was dry rotted and falling apart. That is not included.
Otherwise the jar is free of any cracks, chips or other visible defects. All lettering and imagery is complete with no voids or damage.
This jar is french made and used to store a product called Rumtopf which is a  traditional German method of preserving fruit in rum. It is a large glass or stoneware jar used to layer various fruits with sugar and high-proof rum over several months, typically starting in the spring. The fruits mature in the rum, creating a boozy fruit compote that is often enjoyed around Christmas.
The text on the back of the jar translates to ,:
"Please make sure that the fruit is always completely covered with high-proof rum, then your Rumtopf will always succeed."
