Since 1988 Liebherr produces the 8 axle telescopic crane LTM 1400 in Ehingen. Meanwhile it has become the most successful piece of equipment in the 400 ton class. The LTM 1400 offers mobility and versatility. Despite the 96t counter weight including the 50 m telescopic boom is the only 17.5 m long mobile crane compact and manoeuvrable Moving traction is facilitated by a DAIMLER-BENZ turbo engine with 390 kW /530 HP. A telescope tensioning device is mounted at the top of the telescopic boom. this serves to increase the lift load by up to 50%. during road transit this tensioning device remains resting on the boom. A second hosting gear is mounted at the rear of the crane superstructure. This also forms the base for the counter weight of up to 125 tons. With the main boom a lifting height of 46.9 m can be achieved. With the rocker lattice jib top the total lifting height can reach up to 132 m with a maximum outreach of 96 m. The crane can be moved at the construction site in the fully assembled stage including counter weights and a total weight of 272 tons.
