The camshafts on the ECOTEC engines must be held when removing or installing the cam phaser bolts, or the timing chain may slip and not keep its relationship to the phasers. 2. Current service methods use an open end wrench to hold the cam, and can be very awkward, especially for in-vehicle service. 3. EN-48953 mounts to the front of the block and its tabs engage both cam phasers to hold them so the phaser bolts may be serviced. 4. A pass-through hole on each side allows a socket to be used to remove or install the phaser bolt. 5. Applicable to a series of models. 6. Easy to operate. Tool Use Method: 1.Remove timing chain guide bolt 2.Remove timing chain guide plate 3.Remove timing chain tensioner 4.Rotary intake camshaft actuator to install FTST-0004 locking tool 5.FTST-0004 lock tool mounted to the cylinder cover and tighten to 10 N-m. If the intake camshaft actuator independently of the camshaft and did not move the lock, the counterclockwise rotation of the intake camshaft, the locking tool fixing actuator, the actuator locking on the cam 6 . Loosen intake camshaft actuator bolt 6.Loosen exhaust camshaft actuator bolt 7.Remove FTST-0004 (Please Note: Marking chain and actuator is very important in operating procedures. Before marking the actuator and chain, the oil must be removed from the camshaft actuator and timing chain)
