Rubber-Cal's Eco-Safety Tiles are recycled rubber floor tiles that are 2.5 inches thick and available in four aesthetically pleasing colors: Coal, Blue, Green, and Terra Cotta. These tiles are designed to withstand the most abrasive conditions, thus serving as a premium flooring and equipment protection product. The recycled rubber tiles are effective in both indoor and outdoor applications due to the high contents of EPDM (i.e., a UV/ozone-resistant elastomer) found in the recycled tire rubber. Recycled rubber is a superior material that can reduce noise, dampen vibration, and absorb shock from workout equipment. This product is specifically manufactured for durability and is designed for both residential and commercial applications that are subject to vigorous physical activity. Moreover, the space age polyurethane-based binder used during the manufacturing process enhances the anti-fatigue qualities found naturally in rubber. Each mat is fabricated from thousands of rubber granules and offers underfoot comfort and support along with a resilience to cushion the stress and strain from physical activity. The tiles are ideal for playgrounds and can prevent life-threatening head injuries on playgrounds up to 6 feet in height. One of the concerns regarding rubber flooring is installation. With Eco-Safety Tiles, installation is a nonissue; the tiles utilize an interlocking mechanism to connect to other tiles without messy adhesives. Each tile has two slots on each of the four sides (eight slots per tile). By inserting the included plastic connector pins in each slot, a tile can be connected with another tile by aligning and pushing together a corresponding tile. The connector pins are made of hard plastic with ferruled edges, which hold the pins in place inside the tile. For a flush, full flooring installation, you can simply trim the tiles with a sharp utility knife where needed, making for a very simple and easy DIY installation that can be done by anyone!
