Distance IGR - Breaks Life Cycle Use Distance IGR on Aphids, fungus gnats, leaf miners, scales and whiteflies as part of an integrated pest management program. Distance IGR is an insect growth regulator that is commonly mixed with insecticides, fungicides and adjuvants. Distance IGR kills eggs and inhibits metamorphosis of nymphs, larvae and pupae into adults. Distance IGR(insect growth regulator) does not control the adults but greatly reduces their production of viable eggs due to its strong transovarial activity (parent to offspring). In white flies, transovarial activity begins within one day after adults contact or ingest Distance residues. Distance IGR is very effective tool in management of fungus gnats on greenhouse-produced ornamentals.
