Well it's a mystery piece - I do know that the scarabs are old German glass - it measures 2.75" long - secure clasp - excellent condition. Now for the metal - well it doesn't stick to a magnet - it's not plated - so I generally don't polish anything but this one made me curious.
So I did polish the backside a bit. It did polish up fairly well without going into much effort. When things are not marked I do not call them sterling - so long and short of it is do not buy this piece for sterling. If it turns out to be good for you. When I bought it I just bought it because it was unusual and Egyptian.
