A real collectors item, a gorgeous original 1950s Dan River swing skirt, deadstock with ALL tags attached! Dan River was a textile manufacturer & this is truly beautiful fabric, plaid w/horizontal lines of metallic silver threading going through it, so pretty & so unusual for a plaid of that era (& nearly impossible to photograph)! Made of crisp cotton "Dri-Don" fabric ("Dri-Don" was a specific process used by the Dan River company in the 50s & 60s to create wrinkle-resistant, wash-and-wear apparel, typically applied to their cotton fabrics.)
The department store tag is "W.T. Grant Co.", turns out they were a huge retailer from 1906-1976!
