Rare late 1800’s Victorian Shakespeare Bronze Plaque Merry Wives OF Windsor in Oak Mount.
A nice 19th Century Victorian Architectural Plaque. The Plaque is made of bronze and dates from the late 1800s. It depicts a charming scene based on Shakespeare's "Merry Wives of Windsor" showing the playful banter between Falstaff and Mrs. Ford. The plaque is most likely European in origin. Overall dimensions of the casting are roughly 6" x 8", it is very heavy for the size at over 2 pounds. The Bronze Plaque is in very good overall condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Mounted in oak. Bronze plaque itself measures specifically 21 cm by 14.5 cm. Oak frame measures 9” x 11”.
