Workbench Holdfast Bench Clamp Ductile Cast Iron 8” Tall 4.25” Reach Use in 3/4" Holes WBHF

Holdfasts have in use for centuries to hold boards to the top and side of workbenchs to allow hands-free planning, carving, drilling, sawing, routing, etc. Holdfasts are perfect for projects that require frequent repositioning. To use, simply drill 3/4” holes in a workbench, insert and give a hard, solid whack with a mallet in the center of the head. To release, tap the back side of the clamp. The shafts of these are left slightly rough to grab the hole better. Holdfasts work best in benchs at least 2” thick. There have been lots of complaints about cast holdfasts breaking when hit. In our tests, we tried to break these by hitting with a 4 pound sledge hammer, but were unsuccessfully. Overall length is 8”, depth of reach 4.25”. These should easily hold a 3-4” thick board securely on you bench. These are best used in pairs.
