Beautiful Redware Teapot with a distinctive raised slip design, a technique known as Moriage, a Japanese pottery style. It has Japanese iconography aesthetic crossed with a slight Grecian form factor in a rich earthy brown with gold & colorful accents.
Condition:
• Good Clean Vintage Condition. No chips/ broken pieces. Marks, scratches. Marks on unglazed areas. Rough spots/bumps from mfg process. Circa Pre-War 1940s ('Made in Japan' markers were used on wares from Japan exported to the US from 1921-1941.)
