Absolutely stunning piece of jewelry. I had to do a lot of research on this one to figure out who Lorraine Marcel was. This necklace is so well made, it has a signature on a raised cartouche that says Lorraine Marcel. What I found out is that the necklace was made by Dan Kasoff who is the designer of Florenza jewelry. Lorraine Marcel was a part time worker / customer from Texas, and Kasoff would put the special cartouche with her name on the pieces specially for her. He also made the same jewelry that featured the Florenza name. Only Lorraine and 1 other customer were special enough to have their name placed on pieces for their collection. Hard to measure but I believe this is about 16”. About 1.5” wide and in great condition. The pics don’t show the true beauty. 1950’s
Florenza operated under the name Dan Kasoff, Inc. as a manufacturing industry, and did not start marking its own production jewelry FLORENZA until around 1949-1950
