Vintage rotating color wheel for MCM aluminum or flocked Christmas tree. Manufacturer unknown, but is similar to those made by Gem Electric Mfg. Co of New York in the 1950's. The light has a gold-tone aluminum housing on an adjustable wire stand and includes a 65-W LED floodlight for bright colors and minimal heating. The detachable color wheel is 12" in diameter and consists of a matching gold-tone metal frame with colored cellophane sheets, backed by a thin plexiglass panel. The mechanical music box (which plays "Silent Night") is attached to the housing and is driven by a gear on the motorized shaft that rotates the color wheel. The music box turns on by pivoting the music box to make contact with the drive gear. Unfortunately, a piece of the gear is broken so the music is a bit erratic. The color wheel works and is in good used vintage condition.
