This is a very nice size antique figural humidor in the form a jester's head. It is in incredible condition! Not one bit of crazing, no cracks, there are 4 very small paint chips on the tips of his ruffled collar, other than that, he is shiny and beautiful! Even the inside of the humidor is bright white, seems its never been used.
The jester is wearing what looks like a dunce's hat decorated with a smiling sun and a donkey's head on the front and a cow's head and a bird on the back. This porcelain or pottery jar is glazed in very vivid colors and shows great detail. The entire piece is made of pottery and the top of the hat is the lid. This is a beautiful antique Art Pottery Figural Humidor.
Date: Mid to late 1800's.
Size: ~4" by 4" at the base and ~6 5/8" at its highest.
Marks: Impressed on the bottom of the base the numbers "38” and "3648"
