Vintage Robert Maxwell stoneware lion figurine from the Zoo Series, made in California. This piece dates to the mid-1970s to early 1980s and features Maxwell's signature whimsical mid-century modern sculptural style with a rounded body, textured mane, and oversized feet.
Original "Robert Maxwell Stoneware – Handcrafted Designs – California" sticker is still attached on the bottom. Some Maxwell pieces were made with only the sticker and no impressed stamp, and this is one of those original sticker-only versions.
