"(circa 1980's) J. [Jerome] Taylor was born in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica, and grew up in the Wild Cane district. A self-taught artist, he did pencil sketches on paper as a child, graduating to color with crayons and watercolors, and finally—around the age of 18—to acrylics on canvas. He has been making a living from painting since about the year 2000. He paints at home, then travels to festivals and exhibitions to sell his work”
