Vintage Duncan & Miller three part clear glass relish dish, vintage from the late 1950's. Duncan & Miller Glass Company was a well-known glass manufacturing company in Washington, Pennsylvania, southside neighbourhood of Pittsburgh. Items that were produced by the company are known as "Duncan glass" or "Duncan Miller glass." The company was founded in 1865 by George Duncan with his two sons and son-in-law and by 1890, the company joined other glass companies to form the United States Glass Company. This elegant piece is square, with three sections and two handles. It features a vegetable theme of celery, cucumbers and olives and is made with the unique 'Intaglio' glassmaking technique which results in etched, frosted glass with recessed images. Measuring 24cm from handle to handle, 18.5cm in width and 3cm in height, it is in very good condition for its age without any chips or cracks to the glass.
