Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Llama With Man, Plaques Fit Together To Look 3D

Beautiful wood carving of a llama and, presumably, its owner, who is wearing a chullo, the traditional hat in Peru. Very cleverly carved with beautiful undulations - a very tactile piece of art. Each is an individual carving but are designed to fit together by a wooden dowel peg on the back of the man's carving which fits into a hole on the front of the llama's neck. The two are also linked by a thin strip of fabric attached to the backs, which could be used to hang them on a hook in a wall. Carved from an unknown wood. Age unknown but I'm guessing 1980s. Length is 30cm (12 inches) It is in very good vintage condition. There is some white residue in some lines on the hat but I have not attempted to remove this - please see last photo. These vintage items cannot be washed in a dishwasher or used in a microwave or in or with any other type of electric or heated appliance as they will melt or distort or worse!
