This vintage small Kachina doll hand-carved by a Native American artist is a unique cultural collectible. With a height of 3 inches and a width of 1 3/4 inches, this Kachina doll represents an aspect of the Native American culture, specifically from the Hopi and Zuni tribes.

The owl kachina (Mongwa) represents wisdom, intelligence. Traditionally kachina are hand-carved from the root of the cottonwood tree, revered for its ability to seek water.

This kachina is in good condition and was in an enclosed display since purchased in 1982. There are some minor spots of missing paint. It is not signed; it is stamped “OWL” on the bottom. Please refer to the photos to view this kachina’s overall condition.

Handmade in the United States most likely in 1982, this intricately crafted, vibrantly painted doll weighs only 0.4 ounces, making it a delicate and special addition to any collection of Native American art and artifacts.
