Early 20th c. hand sewn puzzle ball in pink and multi-colored fabrics.
I believe the fabric is cotton, but I'm not 100% positive. It is stuffed with batting and is hand stitched. There are also several green beads sewn in. I don't see any stains or wear. It measures about 4 1/2" across.
Although called pin cushions, these were actually for ornamental rather than actual use, something the Amish would refer to as being "plain and fancy". Most would be hung in a cupboard or from a mantel shelf. For reference, refer to Patricia Herr's "Amish Arts of Lancaster County".
