I was so engrossed, I read it all in one night.

As I've been playing the hichiriki, a Japanese wind instrument used in gagaku (traditional Japanese court music), for over a decade, I bought this book out of interest.

After reading the contents, I couldn't help but be impressed.

This book contains, though not entirely, the oral traditions passed down in the author's family, who are musicians, and I thought it was a very valuable book from a research perspective.

It's a book I'd recommend to anyone who plays gagaku, or even those who are just interested in it.
