For your consideration is this lovely Caroling Angel Tabletop Centerpiece made in Japan most likely during the 1950s to early 1960s. This piece has a cardboard center form covered with a red and white hooded velvet robe with gold ric-rac trim. She has a ceramic hand painted head and goldtone foil wings adhered to her back. She measures 6 inches long x 3 inches wide x 9.75 inches tall and weighs 3 ounces. There feels to be a marble inside of the piece most likely to counterbalance the weight so that she does not tip over. The bottom is stamped "JAPAN". This item is rare and hard to come by.conditionon: I have re-adhered her foil wings back onto her dress as the adhesive had deteriorated over time. I have gently steam cleaned her, but was unable to remove the yellowing to the white velvet of her hood and robe most likely caused from aged skin oils. She was thoroughly air dried prior to photographing.
