As shown. See all photos. Last photo is index card my maternal grandfather filled out probably in the 1950s. One book is inscribed with my mom’s mom’s father’s father’s father’s name, Sylvanus Keith (1792–1875). So he perhaps picked these up when published, when he was 23. Seen better days, but still super cool.

5.5” x 3.5” x 2.5” (3 stacked together)

“A comprehensive collection of poems written during the 17th century. This volume includes various forms of poetry, such as sonnets, odes, and epics, exemplifying Milton's mastery of the English language and his thematic exploration of divinity, human experience, and morality. The collection features prominent works like "Paradise Lost" and "Lycidas," which delve into profound philosophical and theological issues.”

“John Milton (9 Dec 1608–8 Nov 1674) was an English poet, polemicist, and civil servant. His 1667 epic poem Paradise Lost was written in blank verse and included 12 books.”
