Gene Shelly 1960 cocktail dress
Gene Shelly dresses are the cream of the crop when it comes to knit pieces. The sequins are completely hand applied and when you see the dress in person you realize just how densely they have been hand applied onto his signature knit base. This one is especially beautiful because of the color. It is a pale baby blue that is utterly feminine and romantic and still sexy as hell. I love the diamond pattern and the knit base allows the dress to stretch to fit where it should and hug all your curves. The Hollywood starlets were crazy over Gene Shelly pieces and for good reason. Excellent condition.
The base is a light blue knit and it does not have additional lining. It closes with a painted metal zipper. The sequins are all applied by hand
