This is a wool knit from Hemmond, blended with alpaca. It is estimated to have been manufactured from the late 1980s to the early 1990s.

Hemmond was based in Perugia, Umbria, central Italy. Perugia is the home of Brunello Cucinelli, one of the world's top knitwear brands, and is a holy ground for Italian knitwear. Hemmond is a manufacturer with advanced knitting techniques and traditional craftsmanship unique to this region.

The luxurious material is a blend of resilient virgin wool, rare alpaca, and brightly colored acrylic. The long hairs of the alpaca lightly cover the surface, creating a vintage-like, faded texture and a meltingly warm feel.

The geometric mosaic pattern is overwhelming and represents Italian modernism of the 80s and 90s. A wide variety of patterns such as zigzags, grids, and concentric circles are intricately combined like patchwork, creating different expressions depending on the viewing angle.
