Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. Studied under Katsumi Kojima, Hideyasu Shimada, Tatsuo Usutoku, J. Isnard, W. Müller, and R. Odnoposoff. Formed the Tokyo Vivaldi Ensemble in 1962 and became its concertmaster. Served as the first concertmaster of the Geidai Philharmonia from 1973 to 1983. Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts. President of the Japan String Teachers Association. Served as a judge for the All Japan Student Music Competition, the Japan Music Competition, and others. His edited and authored works include "Step-by-Step Violin Introduction 1-3," "Kayser Violin Textbook 1-3," "Kayser Violin Textbook 1-3 (with 2nd Violin and Piano Accompaniment Score and Commentary)," "Carl Flesch Scale System for Violin," "Famous Duets for Violin," "60 Famous Pieces to Play in the 2nd Position," "Variations on the Theme of 'Kojo no Tsuki' for Solo Violin: With Performance Advice," and "Kreutzer 42 Studies."
