Rare! BEACH BOYS / Surfer Girl

This is a super rare Japanese single record featuring the Beach Boys' famous songs "Surfer Girl" and "Fun, Fun, Fun."

Having usually listened to the stereo versions, I felt a sense of unfamiliarity, like a different mix, when I listened to this record for the first time in a while, which was a refreshing surprise. Incidentally, this single is recorded in mono.

It's a truly rare find, even though it was released after "Surfin' USA." But now, it's a classic early ballad, a standard for the Beach Boys. Considering that Brian, who was around 21 years old, created both sides, I'm once again impressed by his talent.

The following year, America would be invaded by the Beatles, but the Beach Boys were one of the few white groups in America that could compete.
