A charming and rare set of four antique books from the "Little Books About Old Furniture: English Furniture" series, written by J. P. Blake and A. E. Reveirs-Hopkins, and published by William Heinemann, London. These illustrated books are a wonderful collector's item for antique enthusiasts, furniture historians, or book lovers. They feature lovely illustrations, including full-page plates and line drawings of classic English furniture. The Set Includes the Four Volumes: • Volume I: Tudor to Stuart (The title page of this volume is shown on a flyleaf, but the publication date isn't clearly visible in the image.) • Volume II: The Period of Queen Anne (Title page shows MCMXIV, which is 1914 - a Second Impression/New Edition. The original copyright is 1911.) • Volume III: Chippendale and his School (The title is visible on the spine and in the set overview.) • Volume IV: The Sheraton Period (Post-Chippendale Designers, 1760-1820) (Title page shows MCMXIII, which is 1913.) Book Details & Date: • Authors: J. P. Blake & A. E. Reveirs-Hopkins • Publisher: William Heinemann, London • Approximate Publication Dates: Volumes appear to be early impressions or printings from the series, dating from 1913 to 1914 (as seen on Vol. II & IV title pages) with the series originally starting around 1911. • Condition: Used, antique condition. The books show signs of age, including tanning/foxing (age spots) to the pages and endpapers (one shows a partial index bleed-through and spotting), and some wear to the cloth covers. Volume II has a handwritten inscription on the endpaper dated Aug 4th 1918.
