A beautiful, professional-grade vintage Italian decorative book box, handcrafted from wood. The lid features a high-gloss lacquered decoupage of the Sassi di Matera skyline, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The scene highlights the historic Civita district and the iconic 13th-century Matera Cathedral bell tower.
The exterior is carved and finished with metallic gold-tone pigment to simulate gilt book pages. The interior and base feature a vibrant emerald green wood stain that preserves the visibility of the natural grain. The underside is hand-signed "Lavorato a mano" (Hand-worked) in gold ink.
