The development team at 2nd had been wanting to create a mohair cardigan for quite some time. However, the high price of the fabric, especially for high-quality mohair with long fibers like those seen in vintage pieces, made it difficult to offer the product at an affordable price, and the project was stalled for a long time. After about a year of discussions with various manufacturers to find a way to create a long-fiber mohair knit similar to vintage pieces while keeping the price as low as possible, they teamed up again with gim, a long-established Japanese knitwear manufacturer that had previously collaborated on the highly successful Tilden knit. Finally, a high-quality, cost-effective masterpiece was completed.

Good condition vintage mohair knits, especially in the popular black color, are unlikely to be found in the future. This item allows you to wear such a piece in a brand-new condition.

The depth of the V-zone was designed to mimic vintage pieces, making it an item to be worn loosely and casually. The armholes and body width were adjusted based on vintage clothing, aiming for a relaxed size balance and silhouette, allowing for a vintage-like feel.

Two-hole buttons, also inspired by vintage pieces, were used, with black buttons of a similar color. They have a dull luster and, of course, perfectly complement the black mohair fabric.

The standout feature of this special order is the long-fiber mohair. It feels incredibly soft and has a luxurious sheen. While the fluffy texture right after purchase is great, the slightly worn look after repeated wear will likely create a vintage-like atmosphere. It's something to look forward to enjoying the aging process.
