Gorgeous Antique Augustus Spencer Original Oil Painting. (11.5 in by 9.5 inches), in carved, gold wood frame.
Augustus Spencer was born in Silspen, Yorkshire, in England, in April of 1860, and died Oct. 3, 1924. He was predominantly a landscape and portrait artist, and was a prolific painter. He studied art at Keighley School of Art and Royal College of Art. He even became Principal at the Royal College of Art in 1900 and held that post until 1920.
(The frame, measuring 15.5 by 13.5, while beautiful (an antique handcarved wood frame, from Marshall Field & Company) is not the original frame. Just the painting itself is original. Painting is in wonderful condition for its age!
