This copy has water damaged- starting at inside flap of the dustjacket and continuing until page 10. See Photos
The pages are wavy and crinkled for these first pages of the book. Also, there are several discoloration marks on the outside of the pages (opposite the spine); see photos. Other than those issues, this book is in really good vintage condition (it's now 20 years old). The binding is tight, the boards are clean, and the pages are clean. The dustjacket is unclipped (displays $16.95 price).
The Book Thief is a beautifully touching story about children and death in WWII. I was blown away the first time I read this book, and I've read it several times since
Even with the damage, this first printing, first edition is quite the collectible for this book that became incredibly popular.
