Original British Army Battledress Blouse – 1949 Pattern, dated 1955 and made by Black & Co. (Clothiers) Ltd. This is a genuine post-WWII military issue, not a repro.
Constructed from heavy brown wool with the correct short, cropped battledress cut. Features dual chest pockets, adjustable waist belt with metal buckle, reinforced interior panels, and original buttons and stitching throughout. Interior label is fully intact and clearly marked 1949 Pattern – Size 10 – 1955, which is exactly what collectors want to see.
There is also a handwritten name tag inside ("K. Thompson"), adding real period character and authenticity. Condition is very good for its age, with honest wear consistent with military use — no major damage, no modern alterations.
These early post-war battledress jackets are getting harder to find, especially with clean labels and original hardware. Perfect for military collectors, vintage menswear, film/reenactment, or display.
