Vintage Large Hand Painted Yellow Folk Art Floral Recipe Hinged Box. Double hinge, swing hook front latch to keep those recipes safe. Sweetly painted yellow box with hand painted leaves, pink flowers, scallop borders, daffodils and tulips. 'Recipes' in the center of the lid. Interior is all yellow and has two compartments suited for recipe cards. Lid has a stylized hand painted 'distelfink' goldfinch on the inside. A symbol of happiness for the Pennsylvania Dutch. The bottom is signed - By Jean Oliphant May 1977 Mphs, TN. Interior compartments are 5 1/4"L x 4 3/8" W x 3 5/8"D. Box is 12 1/4"L x 5 3/4"W x 4 7/8"D. Very good vintage condition. Solid box. Shows wear and could use a gentle clean up to brighten the paint even more.
