Beautiful vintage wooden box purse / vanity handbag, dating to approximately the 1930s–1940s. This piece features a charming hand-painted butterfly and floral motif on the exterior, paired with a striking translucent cherry-red curved handle consistent with early Bakelite or Catalin-style handles used during this period.
The purse retains its original interior lining, including the mirror and ribbon pull, both of which are increasingly hard to find intact. Brass-tone hardware and latch are original and function properly.
