This seems to be the ZUZU South Sea Islander doll by Norah Wells (that is what came up online but I bought this at an estate sale 12 years ago. The woman who owned it was not there for confirmation of which doll this is).
This design was introduced in the late 1920's - early 1930's
She has dark velveteen skin, side-glancing eyes, and a "molded" face. She is very adorable.
This doll has the original outfit, including headwrap, necklace and beaded wooden earrings. The dress is orange with yellow felt circles (there is some damage to the circles, probably moths). The painted features on her face are in very good condition. Her body is soft except for the head, jewelry and hands.
The Norah Wells tag is on the bottom of the shoe, and the tag is in great condition.
Her height is about 9"
