Cord has been patched, it got cut right near the base. I highly suggest removing the bottom screws and replacing the small cut off end where it connects to the terminal with the larger portion of the cord. However the choice is ultimately yours. Tested and working.
Very nice fan, aesthetically pleasing, will likely out live most modern fans. Easy accept metal latch clips allow you to quickly remove grill and clean blades; a feature most modern fans have abandoned.
