Signed Dated Mora Minnesota USA A rare Miss Fannie Turgeon's Memories in Cloth doll. The doll's name is Lina and she is signed by Donna Gilbert and dated 1998.
The doll's head, hands, and feet are made of ceramic or porcelain while the rest of the doll is made from cloth. The head is intentionally crazed to give the doll an antique look. Some information on Miss Fannie Turgeon's Memories in Cloth dolls: In 1986 Donna Gilbert started a small cottage industry in Minnesota. It was called Miss Fannie Turgeon's and she made dolls and samplers. They were featured at the Museum of Folk Art, NY, Boston Museum of Fine Art, Country Living and many other shops and magazines. Each doll on the back is signed and dated by Donna Gilbert, 1993. This doll measures about 9" from top of head to bottom of dress. Fannie Turgeon dolls were made in Mora, Minnesota by Donna Gilbert.
