Christian Endeavor, launched in 1881 by Francis E. Clark at the Congregationalist Church in Portland, Maine, as a way of energizing youth in his Church, soon spread throughout North America and was carried overseas by missionaries. By the time these two books were published, CE had become the largest Christian Education organization for youth in the world. This lot gives you the Official Report of the 13th Annual International CE Convention in Cleveland, consisting of reports from chapters around the world and addresses on various themes related to CE and its missionary work. 254 pages paperback in Good condition with tight binding and clean unmarked pages. The other is The Junior Endeavor Manual for leaders of Junior societies of CE. This was written by Amos R. Wells, Clark's close friend and longtime colleague in managing the vast Christian Endeavor movement. Also good condition with tight binding and clean unmarked pages but considerable fraying on the edges of the boards.
