This is a late 19th or early 20th-century ironstone plate by F. & Sons (Ford & Sons) in the "Carlton" pattern, produced in Burslem, England. It remains structurally sound but displays several age-related characteristics common to earthenware of this period.

• Crazing: There is visible, heavy all-over crazing (fine spider-web cracking in the glaze) on both the front and back. This is typical for antique ironstone of this age.
