Vintage brass bed warmer, also known as a warming pan or chestnut roaster. Features a long handle and a round, lidded brass pan with small holes. Historically, hot coals or embers were placed inside the pan, which was then moved between bed sheets to warm them before use. It was commonly used from the mid-17th to early-20th century before the invention of central heating and hot water bottles. Now, would look great hanging on a wall or near a fireplace. Patina consistent with age. Measures approximately 17.5” long.
