Vintage German beer stein- beautiful high relief design- pub scene / edelweiss
stein or mug is believed to date to approximately the 1930s or 1940s...measures approximately 5.25" H (to top of stein); 6.5" H (to tip of pewter top) x 2 7/8" D (of base)...holds 0.25 L (approximately 8.5 oz)
stoneware, with a flip-top pewter lid...deep cobalt blue background with high relief pub scene and edelweiss flowers...one side is stamped "Bei Spiel und Sang" and on the other side is "Trink Freund noch Lang", meaning "At play and song, friend-drink for a long time".
base is stamped "Made in Germany" and the stamp marking for Eckhardt Engler & Hohr
MINT condition- no chips, dings or scratches...colors are bright and vibrant, with no apparent fading...stein has been very well cared for, appearing as new...a beautiful, German beer stein!
