This beautifully crafted porcelain plaque is a fine example of 20th-century Chinese ceramic art, using the traditional Qianjiang Cai (light crimson enamel) technique. The scene depicts a classic Taoist legend: an immortal elder rests beneath an ancient pine tree, while a young disciple tends to an alchemical furnace, with five bats flying overhead. In Chinese culture, this symbolizes the pursuit of immortality and "Five Blessings" (longevity, wealth, health, virtue, and peaceful death).
