Large antique hand-hammered copper tankard or mug, circa 17501800 (late 18thearly 19thC). Crafted from thick sheet copper with visible hammer marks and an intentionally irregular, early utilitarian profile. Features a dovetail (cramp) seam, a distinctive construction method of early copperware. Handle is brazed at the top only, a known period technique.

Wide rolled foot, thickened rim, and heavy for its size. Original, untouched patina with dark oxidation and verdigris along seams and interior. Non-magnetic. Approx. 7.5" tall, 6" base, 4" opening, 1.5 lbs.

Structurally sound with age-related wear, tool marks, and asymmetry inherent to hand-made primitive copper. No modern repairs or alterations observed. Not lined; not for modern food or drink. Unsigned; likely English, Colonial American, or Northern European.
