A charming pair of authentic Knossos studio pottery cat figurines, handmade and hand painted in Cyprus. These highly collectible pieces feature the signature whimsical expressions and vibrant hand-painted details the studio is famous for. This set includes: The Groom, dressed in a dapper blue-and-white checkered tuxedo with a hand-painted bowtie. The Floral Lady: Featuring a vibrant pink-and-green floral pattern and a classic pink ruffled ribbon collar. Both figurines have large eyes, pink ears, and clearly defined whiskers. They are hollow-bodied with a high-gloss finish. The Groom is marked "Hand Made CYPR" with a very feint “Knossos” on the base, authenticating the origin from the Knossos studio. The Floral Lady has no visible markings. Both cats are in great vintage condition. There is a little age related crazing on the Groom and a little chip on the Floral lady - see photos. These figures are approximately 8.5cm tall.
