Benoit • Content: The printed text provides a general description of Guyana (Guiana) and discusses its discovery, mentioning Christoval Colom (Christopher Columbus) and the explorer Vasco Nuñez. • Original Publication Date: The content shown in the image includes the year 1843 at the bottom of the right page. The work ran in several parts in the Leeskabinet, with some published as late as 1844. Manuscript Notes The left-hand page features extensive handwritten notes in Dutch. One entry is dated "Zondag 24/6 'go'" (Sunday 24/6/1890) and describes receiving the back cover from a relative who passed away in 1918. And poem titled "Der sterren kringloop" (The cycle of the stars).
