The American edition precedes the London edition and contains more illustrations. In original blue cloth with gilt decoration and vignette. Slight fading to spine cloth colour and a little rubbing to cloth spine edges. No inscriptions. Text block tight and square. Pages are clean and bright and turn easily. Overall, very good+ contents / cloth. McGovern travelled to Lhasa in 1922 as part of a British Buddhist Mission. McGovern, arriving in Lhasa via Sikkim.
