To make it easy to hold, the shape is designed to be slightly wider near the nib than in the center.
The wood is sanded from coarse to 1000 grit. This creates a moderate shine while still allowing you to feel the natural texture of the wood.
The surface is carefully cut and checked repeatedly to ensure there are no imperfections.
The finish uses Kinu Oil. The main ingredient is rice-derived, tasteless, odorless, and gentle on the skin.

A general term for deciduous trees belonging to the Acer genus of the Sapindaceae family.
It will gradually change to a brownish color over time and with use.
It is said that it was named "Kaede" (maple) because it resembles a frog's hand (kaeru-de).
