A big hit song from 1961 by Neil Sedaka, with Japanese lyrics by Reiko Yukawa. I wonder if it was written specifically for this? It seems different from the Japanese lyrics (Kenji Ren) by Mieko Hirota, who had a cover hit around the same time. The instruments sound like the 80s, but the basic arrangement is almost straight oldies style.
