【Riki Choshu】
Born December 3, 1951, in Tokuyama, Yamaguchi Prefecture (now Shunan City). Blood type O. He excelled in wrestling during his time at Senshu University and participated in the 1972 Munich Olympics. He debuted on August 8, 1974, with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, led by Antonio Inoki. In the 90s, he also demonstrated his skills as a producer. He was always at the forefront of the wrestling world, including the success of the first nationwide dome tour in professional wrestling and setting the record for the largest audience at the Tokyo Dome (at the time). Although he retired from active competition on January 4, 1998, at the Tokyo Dome, he made a surprise comeback on July 30, 2000. He retired again on June 26, 2019, at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, famously saying he was "going home to his family." However, he suddenly started using Twitter at the end of 2019. Since then, he has opened accounts on YouTube and TikTok, causing a sensation. Now, as an influencer with over 1 million total SNS followers and over 100 million total views on video SNS, he has gained high support from a younger generation who don't know his wrestling career at all.
